Colorado, Rocky Mountain High

Cheyenne canyon, Rocky Mountains, Colorado, landscape photographer,
Taking a break from hiking at Cheyenne Canyon

Since I did not do a fabulous job of posting about my round the country road trip (albeit it is well documented on Instagram @amyshortphoto) I thought I'd update everyone on how I'm doing since I've been in Colorado. I am LOVING it here. I have been waiting so long to come out here and I suppose the wait was worth it. It feels like everything is happening in due time and I am exactly where I need to be. For the first time in my life I feel like the pieces are all coming together and it is a beautiful feeling. I know now that everything in my life has happened for a reason, and has led me here, to the right place, at the right time. The opportunities here, granted the market is highly competitive, are boundless. I have applied to a handful of art galleries and one juried art show so far. The process is intimidating and scary but I am ready to tackle it full on. I am meeting some awesome new people and the hunt for a job to support myself while my art career blooms is ON. I can say for the first time in a long time I am feeling good, and as the Dirty Heads say "this world is mine for the taking." So BRING IT, Colorado. The events of my past have made me strong, and I know I can take anything life throws at me. I have never been more ready for this.
